Within our daily routines we can become lost in the superficial where our focus gets narrowed and limited. We are also getting more disconnected to nature. What if we could slow down to hear the earth? What if we could see the layers between the physical and non-physical world where the trees would share their wisdom and we would humbly listen.
There are two main ways that I start my paintings. The most common method is improvisational. I start with mixing and playing with colors. Images begin to appear spontaneously as I paint.
I really don’t think about how I want to affect people with my art work. I do it for very selfish reasons. I paint for my own well being, but I hear it has some good side effects on others.
There are doors we can’t open by ourselves. Sometimes it takes an alchemy of two people to experiences new levels of beauty, love and intimacy.
For me, this painting is about feeling our true essence in how we are all connected to the animal kingdom and nature. It is in that experience of oneness that healing happens for ourselves and the planet.
I am just moving into a new place with a studio in the backyard. I also have outside studio/gallery on Pico Blvd. They both have high ceilings. Feeling blessed with my spaces to create!
