Today, Chris Bonno is an award winning Los Angeles artist and comedian who received his Fine Arts Degree from the University of Texas at Austin with honors. He started out as an illustrator with work shown in publications such as Austin Chronicle, National Lampoon, The WGA magazine, The L. A. Weekly with regular exhibits in galleries in Texas and California.
The art chosen to represent the introduction of TribeLA Magazine is entitled “Journey” by Frank Creaturo, Jr. because that is exactly what we’re on; a journey to find and tell the stories behind the art of Los Angeles and the emerging artists behind that art. A journey to bring our varied cultures together as one vibrant, thriving community. And, a journey to inspire people from all over to make their dreams come true.
Joe’s style is whimsical and has been seen in such magazines as Sports Illustrated, Entertainment Weekly, Time, Forbes, The Village Voice, Fantagraphics Press, Disney and countless others.
