Naughty Doppler
I painted this post-apocalyptic work during graduate school. It’s my most ambitious painting to date.

This painting was my first attempt at airbrushing and the ambitious composition reveals a lot of growth with the tool. I was also playing around with Photoshop, trying to make digital layering play a role in the painterly process. I’m interested in how technology alters our visual understanding of how images are constructed. This painting has a contemporary cut and paste feel, but also an organized chaotic arrangement reminiscent of history painting. It’s my version of a beautiful world gone wrong.
