Sounds and the City 09.01.2017 “The Weekend” by Sizzy Rocket
The Weekend,” written in Sizzy’s San Fernando Valley bedroom, swells with audible pangs of nostalgia. While the track is wholly raw and personal, the verses incorporate a coffee table aspect; it’s as if you’re sitting across from Sizzy as she recounts her time with this girl. The track’s visions of snowy Manhattan roof tops and faded red solo cups evoke the cross-coastal memory of love on the weekend.
ART TODAY 08.30.17: Joe Rocco’s whimsical style is “a cross between Rankin-Bass, the Muppet Show and Eastern European Children’s animation”
Best advice received: I’m rather fond of the expression “Under-Promise but Over-Deliver” (a former boss of mine said) when it comes to the work I do for any client. I like the idea of not making too ambitious a promise about the work I will do, but then going that extra mile so the client feels that I went far beyond their expectations.

According to several Chinese news sources, for the first time – because of poor air quality in Beijing, there will be no firework displays in the Sky this year. It creates too much smog. Some people are happy about this and some are not. Still, Happy Chinese New Year everyone, fireworks or no fireworks!
