Jazz Banner

The Free Spirits, Fourth Way, and other musicians such as Gary Burton, Steve Marcus, and Larry Coryell were the initial pioneers of Jazz fusion. They began incorporating rock into their jazz recordings in the late 1960s before Miles Davis’ release of the Grammy winner “Bitches Brew” in 1971.

Sounds and the City will explore the corroborations of fusion jazz and the appropriateness of their cultural impact from the 60s to the present. The true joy of the art of Jazz derives from improvisation and fusion. Join our mailing list for updates.
